Shifnal are currently 2nd in the Midland League this season after finishing mid-table last season, and will almost certainly be in the playoffs at least. They were founded in 1964 although there were other clubs with similar names playing in the town since Victorian times. They have had a few ups and downs over the years with ground problems but have moved up the leagues and were promoted to The Midland League Premier Division in 2021.
This is the first meeting of the teams this season with the reverse fixture due next month. Shifnal have only lost once in the last 15 matches and are unbeaten in their last 7 away fixtures so it's going to be a tough one for the Vics who were on a good run of form before last Saturday's defeat away at league leaders Lichfield City.
