Our opponents this weekend are Lichfield City who are currently leading the league by 10 points though having played a couple of matches more than the other contenders for the title and automatic promotion. they are currently on a 10 match unbeaten run in the League which includes a narrow and slightly fortunate 1 - 0 win against the Vics not long ago.
The Club began life in the 1970’s as Beacon Rangers before changing it's name to Beacon Park. In June 2006 a decision was made by the Committee to change the club’s name to Lichfield City FC in order to raise its profile in the local community. The Club was promoted to the Midland Premier League in 2021 and finished 3rd in its' first season there before slipping down to 11th in the 22/23 season. Last season they finished 2nd behind Congleton Town but failed in the play-offs in their bid for promotion.

Vics will be hoping to continue their recent great run of three consecutive wins and have captain Matty Clarke back available after a 2 match suspension. As this is one of the nearer away fixtures , why not venture south and cheer the lads on

DIRECTIONS :

Take the M6 and then the M6 Toll Road until Junction T5 when you take the A5148 exit towards Lichfield/A38/Burton. Keep right and merge onto the A5148. Continue onto the A38 and come off in 1.2 miles where you turn left onto Cappers Lane/A6192. At the first roundabout , take the 2nd exit staying on the A5192 , then at the second roundabout take the 3rd exit still staying on the A5192, then in half a mile, turn right onto Brownsfield Road and the ground is at the end.
Alternatively , if you want to avoid the M6 Toll, take the M6 and come off at J 15 and take the A500 exit to Stoke-on-Trent/Stone/Derby/A50 before immediately taking the 3rd exit at the roundabout which is the A519. In 0.2 miles, turn left onto the B5038 Whitmore Road. In 1.1 miles, turn left onto the A34 Stone Road. Continue on the A34 through 4 roundabouts before at the 5th, take the 1st exit onto the A51. Stay on the A51 for approximately 21 miles when you turn left onto the A5192 Eastern Avenue with Brownsfield Road in 2 miles on the left.
