UTTOXETER TOWN v NORTHWICH VICTORIA

With no League match this Saturday, our attention turns to next Tuesday and the start of Vics' Midland League Cup campaign as they make a relatively short away day trip to Uttoxeter Town.

After starting out life in the Staffordshire County League, Uttoxeter Town were one of the founder members of the Midland Football League in 2013/14, and were promoted up to the Premier Division for the 21/22 season after Covid. The next season they were reprieved from relegation back to Division 1 due to Winsford United's decision to take voluntary relegation and last season they finished 12th on the same points as Vics. This season they currently lie bottom of the League table with just 6 points from 10 matches, but all their defeats have been by just a single goal so Vics will have to be at their best to come out on top. One of those defeats was of course at the start of the season when Vics grabbed a dramatic win as Vics scored 2 late late goals to gain a 2 - 1 victory.
Vics will be hoping that with no game this Saturday, a few injuries that forced players off last week will have cleared up in time, and of course the League Cup gives a chance to test fringe players out.

Take the M6 to J16 and join the A500 to Stoke, then in 9.7 miles, take the A50 slip road signed Uttoxeter/Derby. Uttoxeter following signs for . At the roundabout , take 2nd exit A50. Keep on the A50 for 14.6 miles, then take the 3rd exit at McDonalds Roundabout onto the B5030. In 0.3 miles, 1st exit at the roundabout onto the A522 Cheadle Road, then in 1/2 mile, take the 2nd exit onto High Street. Go through one mini roundabout , and Springfield Road is on the right in 1/4 mile.
