A Statement from Steve:

A STATEMENT FROM STEVE WILKES

After nearly six seasons as Manager of Northwich Victoria, I have decided to step down and resign as Manager after Saturday's game at Burscough. This has been the toughest decision I have ever made in football, but I don't feel I can take the football club to the next level, which ultimately is promotion.
As most people know I live over 90 minutes away from every home game and the late nights and early starts at work are beginning to take its toll.I have not been approached by another club nor have another job lined up.
I have loved every minute of being the Manager of Northwich Victoria and to be the longest serving manager of such a historic non-league club, that has had much bigger names than me myself as Manager, is something I will always proud of.
I'd like to thank my Assistant, Steve Pickup who has been by my side for over 7 years and Scott Campbell, my coach for the last 4 years. To all the other people that have been part of my managerial team, a big Thank You also.
To the Committee for supporting me over the last 6 years, and in particular Brian Turner the Chairman and Ian Egerton Vice Chairman, and of course Dave Thomas, who I miss greatly every day.
To every single player that has pulled on the green shirt I can't thank you enough.
Finally to all the fans that have made my time here at Northwich a pleasure, i will never forget the FA Vase run in 2019 and the Isle of Man trip earlier this season. You truly are a fantastic group of people. Please keep supporting the football club, you have no idea how much the Club needs your support. I hope I see you all at Burscough on Saturday and I look forward to seeing all of you at the Player of The Year awards.
I am and always will be a Trickie
