Northwich Victoria are delighted that a group of their wonderful supporters have donated 100 specially designed face masks to the Victoria Infirmary in Northwich.
The idea was proposed by loyal trickie, Colin Buckley which he posted onto the fans’ online twitter group. The idea quickly took off and after consultation with our friends at Buccaneer Sportswear who can source and print masks, a design was created by our Commercial Director, Paul Bazley. Co-ordinated by Colin, the fund soon grew as offers of help with the money came flooding in from the fans on the group and the target was quickly raised thanks to their generosity.
Vics’ supporter Phil Harrison, who was one of those who donated to the cause tweeted
“May only be a tiny ripple on the pond of the fight against this terrible pandemic but glad to have been part of who threw the stone - brilliant work trickies!”
The Vice Chairman of the Club, Ian Egerton commented “ Absolute class act from a class set of fans to an unbelievable group of special people that make up our very proud NHS “
The face masks feature the Northwich Victoria logo, but have Infirmary instead of Football Club around the edge, highlighting that both institutions were founded during the late 1800s and have been central to the history of Northwich.
The face-masks were presented to the Infirmary by Commercial Director, Paul Bazley on behalf of Colin Buckley, and they were gratefully received by Julie Smith, Lorna Hitchenson and Jane Baker. They were delighted with the quality and design and said “ These will be a great asset for the Infirmary, and it’s brilliant that this historic Football Club and especially their supporters are thinking of ourselves at this traumatic time. It’s heartwarming knowing that the general Northwich community are backing the tremendous work that all in the NHS are doing at the moment “
